Vuelven las reseñas a destiempo a Musicopathyst. Y lo hacen con una auténtica joya por parte de este cuarteto procedente de Austin, Texas, al que he leído por ahí definir como un cruce entre Nirvana y The Who.La definición no va desencaminada, ya que la música de este disco bebe tanto de las fuentes más agresivas del post-hardcore como del indie más elaborado y a su vez demuestra unas excelentes dotes compositivas y rebosa riqueza sonora, trayendo a la mente tanto al grunge de los noventa como a las óperas rock y el rock progresivo de hace tres o cuatro décadas. Podemos incluso clasificarlos como los antecesores conceptuales de lo que hoy son Arcade Fire. Emocionalmente también se trata de un disco rico, a medio camino entre la nostalgia y el Carpe Diem. El disco entero es una joya y es casi imposible dejar de escucharlo entero, pero como muestra, voy a elegir los exquisitos “Will You Smile Again”, “Rest Will Follow” o “A Classic Arts Showcase”. Una maravilla.

And the first one is about a gem created seven years ago by a quartet coming from Austin, Texas, which i have seen described somewhere as a mixture between Nirvana and The Who. That's not innacurate: the music in this recording feeds both on the most aggresive post-hardcore as well as on the most elaborated indie rock, showing excellent compositional abilites and sound richness. It brings to my mind ninetie's grunge as well as rock operas and 70s' progressive rock. Could we even classify them as conceptual predecessors of which today is Arcade Fire. Emotionally, “Worlds Apart” is also rich, moving from nostalgia to Carpe Diem. The whole album is a jewel and it's almost impossible not to listen to it from the beginning to the end, but i have made an effort and chosen my favs: “Will You Smile Again”, “Rest Will Follow” and “A Classic Arts Showcase”. Marvelous.
