No cabe duda escuchando este EP de que la sombra de Chris Cornell es alargada y de que Daniel Nygren -obviamente sin llegar al nivel de su referente- es también un estupendo vocalista. Dentro de la avalancha de bandas suecas influenciadas por el stoner y los grandes grupos de rock de los años setenta, Mother Of God se ganan el derecho a ser escuchados por su aproximación diferente a esta música...aunque sea apuntando a su vez a una banda de la escena de Seattle. Sea como sea, el resultado -algo a lo que también suelen acostumbrarnos los nórdicos- es notable y el “Forging a New Path” se digiere con sumo gusto a poco que te atraiga este tipo de música. Sólo por “Four Wandereres” ya merece la pena oírlo.
After listening to this EP, there's no doubt about the influence of Chris Cornell's singing style and Daniels Nygren's capabilities as vocalist. Within nowadays' ocean of stoner-70s-influenced swedish bands, Mother Of God earn their right to be listened because of their different approach to this kind of music...even if they do by pointing in turn to a well-known Seattle's group. By the way, the output -something also usual regarding nordic musicians- is great and “Forging a New Path” is easily digested just with a small taste for the forementioned styles. Just because of the opening “Four Wanderers”, this record is worthy.
