I was waiting eagerly for the follow-up to the fantastic “Continents” since i heard it for the first time, and now, with the confirmation of Hydra Head's end, i fear “Black Curtain” means the closing of a stage as short as, for me, important, for the, maybe, most original of Mr.Turner's side project after Isis' breakup. This second release is as magnetic and enchanting as its predecessor, but it also means a wise evolution: brighter, more dynamic -without losing the fundamental tension- and nearly leaving aside the cries and growls in favor of the warm and evoking voice of James Plotkin. Due to the uncertain future, we'll keep it, as the previous one, as the jewel it is. |
