Maravilloso. |
Even if i try, i can't imagine Dead Can Dance releasing an album which is “just right”. DCD are a miracle in themselves, the result of a superlative gift together with a tireless work and an infinite will of perfectionism and of reaching the top -even further- in artistic expression. What else could i, then, say about “Anastasis”? The same i'd tell about any of their previous works: it's fantastic, a delight for the senses, a part of the best the human being can show and a small atlas of history and geography through music. In “Anastasis”, the dark and mystic atmospheres, the middle-eastern, celtic and mediterranean -at least- folklore dance together for near an hour guided by the mesmerising and unearthly voices of the geniuses Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry. From the bright overture of “Children Of The Sun” to the travel to the distant past of “Agape” or the superbly elegant crooner-like singing of Perry in “Amnesia”, the ethereal beauty of “Opium” or the epic “Return Of The She-King”, absolutely everything in “Anastasis” deserves an endless reverence by the sensitive listener. Marvelous. |
