Arbouretum "Coming Out Of The Fog"

De vez en cuando, sucede. De vez en cuando llega a tus oídos un disco que te atrapa desde el primer segundo, capaz de hacerte olvidar todas las miserias terrenales y elevar tu espíritu a cotas inalcanzables para el dolor o la perturbación, de llenarte de paz desde la primera, la segunda, la tercera palabra, la primera, la segunda la tercera nota. Palabras que son notas y notas que son palabras sin letras. Ni falta que hacen. Y eso es lo que me ha ocurrido con el último trabajo de este cuarteto de Baltimore que, para los necesitados de referencias algo más terrenales y tangibles, podríamos definir como un bosquejo del paisaje sonoro dibujado por el hombre que bosteza (y sus hijos) rematado por la mano maestra del espíritu (en modo relax) de David Eugene Edwards. La espiritualidad que rezuma la voz de Dave Heumann, tan diferente pero a la vez tan conectada con la de Edwards, impregna toda la música y unas letras que, aun abordando otros temas, siempre se inspiran en la naturaleza. Hay incluso algún guiño muy bien resuelto a Pearl Jam (“Oceans Don't Sing”) y a un folk más clásico (“Coming Out Of The Fog”), pero la esencia encantadora del disco alcanza sin duda su máximo esplendor en joyas como “The Long Night” (para escucharla en bucle), “The Promise” o “All At Once, The Turning Weath”. Inolvidable.
Sometimes, it happens. Sometimes, it comes to your ears. A record embracing you from the first second, a piece of art which makes you forget all the earthly miseries and lifts your soul up to a place unreachable for pain or disruption. A creation that fills you up with peace from the first, the second, the third word; from the first, the second, the third note. Words being notes and notes that are unlearned words. This is what has happened to me with the last work by this Baltimore-based quarted. For the ones needing some tangible and earthy, less ethereal clues, we could describe the sound of this release as a sketch of Yawning Man's (and his sons) sonic landscape completed by the master hand of the spirit (in relax mode) of David Eugene Edwards. The spirituality Dave Heumman voice's - as different as related to Edward's – exudes, pervades all the music and the lyrics which, even speaking about other differente subjects, always get inspiration from nature. There're even a very well done blink to Pearl Jam (“Oceans Don't Sing”) and to a more classic folk (the closing track), but i think the enchanting essence of “Coming Out Of The Fog” reaches its peak in gems like “The Long Night” (repeat mode), “The Promise” or “All At Once, The Turning Weath”. Unforgettable.
